Gone are the days when you stick your bike on the back of a trailer and tie it down with some rope, now bikes can travel in more style than the average family on a road trip! Before you look at the range of makes and models you need to decide on a few things. The other end of the spectrum is the toy hauler, this is the piece de resistance of motorcycle trailers. It's really a customized towable camper trailer with a garage on the back for your 'toys", hence the name, but it comes with a hefty price tag in the hundreds of thousands.

No matter what style, shape, size you decide on, the leading brands in enclosed trailers are Pace American, Aero Trailers, Haulmark, United Trailers, Horton Hauler and Carry-On Trailer. The net is the best place to browse and do your research as they all have detailed product websites, though most of them require you enter your details to get quotes.

There are some specialized motorcycle websites that have used trailers for sale but Craigslist may also be worth a look. If you are only planning on one trip or you are not sure that this is the right option for you then you may want to consider renting a trailer. Trailer rentals is not a huge market and there are a lot more open motorcycle trailers available. An entry in google will give you a lot of rubbish sites so you may need to search in your local directory if you get stuck.
